Charis Project – FREE DOWNLOADS

The Charis Project was a curriculum development initiative based at the Stapleford Centre, Nottingham, England during the 1990s. The aim of the project was to promote the spiritual and moral development of students through a range of curriculum subjects. Between 1996 and 2000, materials were published for teachers of English, French, German, Mathematics and Science.

The Charis Project books are now out of print but the Stapleford Centre has very kindly given me permission to make the student worksheets and teacher’s notes available through this website as freely downloadable PDFs.

It is my hope that these materials will be not only of historical interest but that they may also provide ideas that can be taken and adapted for use in contemporary classrooms.

The Charis approach has been adapted and developed in more recent initiatives.  The newest of these is the international project behind the websites at http://www.whatiflearning.com/ and http://www.whatiflearning.co.uk/.  The links between this project and Charis are outlined here.

The Kuyers Institute for Christian Teaching and Learning at Calvin College has produced very helpful materials for teachers of Spanish and Mathematics – see Elsa Cortina Project and Kuyers Math Curriculum.
